Alternative methods of dispute resolution are increasingly important in the current legal sphere. The Bond LSA Negotiation Competition aims to promote this important aspect of legal skills through simulated negotiations which take place in the faculty's purpose built skills rooms. Like all Bond LSA competitions, the Negotiation Competition is classed in first year and senior divisions to ensure students are competing against others with similar legal knowledge and experience. In 2010, over 80 students participated in the competition. Students are judged by staff members who have all practiced law and are greatly experienced in the art of negotiation. Previous winners of the competition Brad Ramsden and Adam Goldner have gone on to represent Bond with distinction and will be representing Bond at the International Negotiation Championships in Copenhagen on July 23. The competition will take place in semester three of this year.
